Paris, France – 16 February 2026 – Evertrust, a French specialist in digital certificate and identity lifecycle management, has entered into a strategic technology alliance with Nexpublica, a major software provider to the public sector.
Against a backdrop of rapidly evolving cryptographic standards, the partnership brings together Evertrust’s expertise in certificate lifecycle management (CLM) and public key infrastructures (PKI) with Nexpublica’s credential management capabilities to offer a 100% French, sovereign trust stack designed for the most demanding use cases.
Responding to a critical shift in digital identity security
By 2029, the maximum validity of TLS certificates is expected to fall to just 47 days, forcing organizations to manage near-continuous certificate rotation and substantially more complex operational processes. At the same time, many public- and private-sector organizations face:
- A structural shortage of PKI and cryptography expertise
- Strong dependence on foreign solutions subject to extraterritorial laws such as the U.S. Cloud Act
- Heightened regulatory pressure and scrutiny on the protection of digital identities
In this context, the traditional mix of manual processes, fragmented tools and non-sovereign platforms is no longer sustainable. Organizations must move towards automated, sovereign and scalable trust infrastructures that can guarantee security, compliance and operational independence.
The Evertrust–Nexpublica alliance provides a unified response to this equation, enabling: strong authentication for workstations, VPNs and business applications; secure electronic signatures; advanced encryption of data and communications; and full automation of certificate and credential management.
A sovereign, end-to-end trust infrastructure
Developed in France and operated under European jurisdiction, the joint offering is designed for environments where security, continuity of service and sovereignty are non-negotiable, including: central and local administrations, defence, healthcare, local authorities, banking and insurance, and operators of essential and critical services.
The solution is structured around three complementary security pillars:
- CSPN-certified public key infrastructure (PKI)
Evertrust's public key infrastructure certified CSPN by ANSSI serves as the root of trust, issuing and managing the cryptographic keys and digital certificates that underpin identities and secure communications across the information system. - Certificate lifecycle management (CLM) by Evertrust
Evertrust’s CLM platform orchestrates the end-to-end lifecycle of certificates (discovery, issuance, renewal, monitoring and revocation) across heterogeneous and hybrid environments. It centralizes policy, governance and observability to reduce outages and incidents linked to expired or misconfigured certificates. - Credential Management (CMS) by Nexpublica
Nexpublica’s Credential Management System (CMS) manages cryptographic media such as smartcards, tokens, badges and certificates, ensuring secure provisioning, usage and revocation of the physical and logical supports that carry digital identities.
Together, these three components form a coherent chain of trust in which certificates and cryptographic supports are managed in a consistent, automated manner from issuance through to decommissioning.
A milestone for French digital sovereignty
Beyond technology, the alliance is framed as a long-term strategic collaboration aimed at:
- Co-innovating on future digital trust architectures
- Strengthening joint visibility among public-sector and critical-infrastructure stakeholders
- Offering a credible sovereign alternative to non-European trust solutions
The combined offering is designed to support compliance with major French and European frameworks, including GDPR, SecNumCloud and eIDAS, and marks a key milestone in the construction of a sovereign digital trust chain that respects these regulatory frameworks.
Leadership perspectives
“We are pleased to deepen our collaboration with Nexpublica. The native integration between their CMS and our CLM creates a unified ecosystem where the management of cryptographic media and certificates is naturally synchronized. Our customers benefit from complete automation, full visibility and a sovereign end-to-end architecture,” notes Étienne Laviolette, COO at Evertrust.
“With Evertrust, we bring together the best of sovereign digital identity management within a unified, modern and sustainable architecture. This partnership enables us to offer public-sector stakeholders and critical environments an integrated solution that meets the highest security standards while significantly simplifying the operational management of identities and certificates,” adds Stéphanie Chaubard, Engineering Manager – Cybersecurity Division at Nexpublica.
